I was excited to be on the Academia Bridge preparing to take this photograph of an unparalleled view of the Grand Canal in Venice Italy. The dome of the Basilca di Santa Maria della Salute is seen in the center of the photograph. The canal provides a leading line taking you to the Basilica. The Baroque style church was designed by Baldassare Longhena and construction began in 1631. The church was a votive offering following a plague breakout in 1630.
